About this assembly
Mother Theresa Graz is a social support association.
Mother Teresa's first trip to Austria in October 1982 — three years after she received the Nobel Peace Prize — was a quick visit to Jennersdorf in southern Burgenland. Mother Teresa, coming from Croatia, accepted a donation from the parish and called for something to be done locally for sick and elderly people. The visit was the result of her long-standing and deep friendship with town priest Luisser. A prayer group later became an association that opened the first “Mother Teresa House” in 1990. Two locations now offer 90 nursing places and assisted living for 18 people.
