African Health Promotion Initiative
ProHealth is a charitable initiative that comes from the African community itself. Her main aim is to promote the health of African migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in Austria.
ProHealth was founded in Graz in 2004 by Africans as a voluntary, non-profit self-organization with the aim of increasing awareness of health issues and making health information available to members of the African community in order to improve and promote their health. ProHealth grew out of the former African Awareness Group in Graz, which, in cooperation with Styrian AIDS Aid, has committed itself to disseminating necessary information about HIV/AIDS within the African community and also informing them about the services offered by Styrian AIDS Aid. The members of this group, who also have great influence in their community, were an important link between Styrian AIDS Aid and the African Community.
