Feeding the Good Wolf
About this assembly
The association “FIVESTONES” supports the integration of immigrants into Austrian/European society. Great emphasis is placed on qualitative communication.
“FIVESTONES” strives to identify and use existing resources in the population and to bring them together in networks in order to make them effectively available for the common good. By using hitherto hidden potential, attempts are being made to create value locally and to strengthen the individual regions. Organizing events, workshops and conferences will give space and time to all those people with an immigrant background who want to share and share their knowledge and experience in multiculturalism, integration and peacebuilding. At the same time, due to its willingness to cooperate, the platform also acts as a central institution in the Afghan-Austrian diaspora, which initiates, designs, organizes and coordinates new projects.
The name “FIVESTONES” refers to a five-stone skill game popular with children in Afghanistan. The name alludes to the ability to create something valuable with creativity and skill with limited resources. At the same time, the five stones symbolize the association's core values: tolerance, creativity, empathy, commitment and authenticity.
More about the philosophy of “FIVESTONES”: Feeding the Good Wolf
A legend says that in every person's life, two wolves fight together for supremacy. One wolf is bad. It is hate, anger, envy, pain, greed, arrogance, self-pity. The other wolf is good: he is love, joy, peace, joy, humility, goodwill, compassion. But which wolf wins the battle and determines our lives? It's the one we're feeding. We want to feed the good in us humans so that it can get stronger and come out more and more.
